San Antonio police responded to a domestic violence call early Sunday morning but were met with gunfire from an assailant armed with a rifle. One officer was hit multiple times but is expected to survive. Police Chief William McManus described what transpired:
“Whenofficerswentintotheapartment,hewaslyinginbedwithariflebyhissideandhestartedshootingattheofficers,”McManussaid.“Theofficersreturnedfireandexitedtheapartment.Oneofourofficerswasshotmultipletimes,andsheiscurrentlyinthehospital.”
