“ThepresidentandIhadareallygoodconversation,”HawleytoldFoxNewsDigitalonThursday,adding“hewantstogetitdone.”
“WhattheWhiteHousewantedwasthatthepresident,thevicepresidentnotbecovered.They’renot,theofficesare,butit’llbethenextofficeholders,”heexplained.
TheMissouriRepublicanaddedthat“infairness,wedidthesamethingforJoeBiden.Wepassedthislastyear,andwesetthedateoutsothatitwouldbethenextpresidentwhohadtocomply.”
“So,TrumpandVancearenotcovered,butallthemembersofCongressare.Andit’snotaperfectbill,butit’sprettytough,”saidHawley.
