OnTuesday,hundredsofguncontroladvocatesfromEverytownforGunSafety,MomsDemandActionandothers,includingsomefromMinnesota,discussedtheirprioritiesduringarallyattheIllinoisStatehouse.
OneAimIllinoisDeputyDirectorYolandaAndrozzopushedforguncontrolmeasures.
“Illinoisstatelegislatorshavetheopportunity,it’sanopportunitytoensureprotectionthroughprotectionandjusticeforsurvivorsofgunviolence,”shesaid.
StateSen.CelinaVillanueva,D-Chicago,addressedthecrowd.ShesaidshewantstorespectthoselosttoviolentcrimeandblamedIllinois’“messedupgunlaws.”
