California Congressman calls for gun BAN and CONFISCATION

Congressman Eric Swalwell, a Democrat from California, has gun control — and specifically gun bans — in his sights.

The Congressman is working on legislation to rid our communities of firearms of any kind.  Unlike previous gun ban proposals by Democrats, Swalwell’s legislation does NOT allow for the so-called grandfathering in of currently owned firearms.  His proposal include confiscation of privately owned firearms.

From Ammoland.com:

“Swalwell followed up with a lengthy NBC News interview this week in which he made clear that his own proposal is a departure from prior gun bans that allowed those who obtained the firearms when they were lawful to keep them.

Swalwell said that after thinking “about the different ways to address it … I concluded the only way to do this is to get those weapons out of our communities.”

Not only would his proposal be a massive infringement on the 2nd Amendment but it could also cost billions of dollars in legal reparations to gun owners.

Under his proposal those unwilling to give up certain firearms would face stiff penalties.

Those penalties, and the door-to-door confiscation associated with them, could lead to some explosive confrontations between law enforcement and 2nd Amendment supporters.

  1. I wonder what the true motive of the gun ban and confiscation lawmakers. It is said history repeats itself and only changes the names of the participants. In 1933 Germany required the registration of guns and when Hitler gained power he knew where to send the Gestapo to confiscate them. Is our country headed in that direction?

  2. Swalwell is not qualified to be in office – he has obviously violated his oath of office and is part of the deadly swamp creatures. We need to “kick” this type of individual out of office and automatically eliminate them when they violate their oath of office – from the likes of Obama, to both Clintons and all their “low life” buddies – I say “drain the swamp”.

  3. I have exactly zero interest in your being able to keep your assault style guns. Far more people will die from them being in our communities than you can ever theoretically “save.” They are essentially just toys in the shape of military weapons, making you just G.I. Joe wannibees. And BTW, how many of you have “bone spurs?”

  4. If his ban is for all guns (without an exemption for law enforcement and military) then the court cases will expound beyond reason and a civil war will begin. The real problem is that law enforcement and military have weapons that no one else is permitted to have that equates to a mass genocide of gun owners or better than fifty percent of the population. Federal law forbids the use of the military for population control, but this politician proposed bill is for banning the 2nd Amendment rights of all California residents; what else of the Constitution will he ban and release the military on non-confirming residents of the State.

  5. CONGRESSMAN ERIC SWAWELL IS A PIECE OF WORK ! I AM 62 YEARS OLD AND I THINK HE IS FULL OF MISTRUST, HE IS TRYING TO SCREW ALL THE LEGAL GUN OWNERS IN THE UNITED STATES,WHILE THE COUNTRYS ANXIETY LEVEL IS HIGH. WHY DON’T HE TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHY STUDENDS WANT TO GO TO SCHOOLS AND KILL OTHER STUDENTS.OR FOR THAT MATTER WHY ARE THEY SO FRUSTRATED THAT THEY FEEL THE NEED TO SHOOT OTHER STUDENTS. WE HAVE MORE THAN GUN ISSUES,WE HAVE LACK OF LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER IN THE USA,REAL ISSUES!

  6. Swawell is a bleading heart liberal Demorat that just wants to get in the news. Tucker Carlson had him on one night and he is obviously not playing with a full deck. Confiscation won’t happen it’s an election year.

  7. It must be tough for liberal gun control supporters to comprehend that the Second Amendment is only a reflection of the dictates “of nature and of natures God.” Ultimately, we don’t have rights because the Bill of Rights says so. Rather, the Bill of Rights says so because we have rights intrinsic to our very beings: rights with which we are endowed by our Creator. Such rights can not be surrendered or taken by government regulation. Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase what they believe to be temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

  8. No where in the Second Amendment does it require citizens to have “inferior” weapons than the police or military. Somehow, we have been legislated and regulated into an inferior position contrary to the dictates of the founding fathers of our great nation.

  9. What Eric Swawell is calling for, is the second coming of 1920’s-style prohibition. In the years and decades leading up to prohibition in 1920, all kinds of good things were predicted if only we would ban alcohol. Prisons would become factories. Slums would become a memory. We see this same thought pattern regarding proposals to ban guns.

  10. First of all I am not one to suggest that anyone else should resort to violence. I have been a law abiding citizen all my life (excluding a couple speeding tickets as a teenager) and I am a decorated military veteran of 20 years so I believe in following the orders of those in charge. But foremost I believe in preserving our way of life and our freedom. Both of those WILL go away if we were to surrender all our firearms. So here is what I am doing about the situation. All the “cool” guns (tommy gun, ak47, etc.) as well as the practical guns (hunting, home & personal protection, varmit control) that I’ve had my eye on for years, I’m going ahead and getting them and large capacity mags (where applicable) and a small supply of ammo for each. As a result I’ll be eating cornbread & beans for quite a while but I’ll have the guns I want in case they do get banned. And lastly I should mention, once I get them, I will NOT give them up, for anything. If you check around you’ll find I’m not the only one doing this. This is why sales of guns & ammo are at an all time high. God bless America.
