Publix is a major grocery store chain that is loved by millions of Americas in the southern and central United States. The company is employee owned, with a great presence within each community, and is known for being a great place to work. Publix has also not shied away from political activity, making donations to political campaigns and recently donating to Adam Putnam – a Republican who is running for Governor of Florida.
This has triggered the attention of anti-gun bully David Hogg, since Putnam is an NRA supporter and has received donations from the NRA Political Action Committee.
“Putnam, currently Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture, is from the same county where Publix is based and has received campaign support from Publix throughout his decades-long political career.
On Wednesday Hogg announced a ‘die-in’ at Publix stores for Friday at 4 p.m. EDT. Yesterday he added a demand for a $1 million donation to the Stoneman Douglas Victims Fund and a promise to not support candidates with NRA ‘A’ ratings.”
Hogg, who was a student at Stoneman Douglas High School during the terrible attack, has since committed himself to a jihad against gun owners and gun rights. He uses social media to routinely call out anyone who has ties to the NRA, often making outlandish demands and threats like those he directed at Publix.
It’s doubtful that his protest will make any impact on Publix’s bottom line, as many residents in Florida have already posted support for Publix and for Putnam. Publix has not commented on the demands and they aren’t really expected to either.
