Another day passes and yet another gun control idea comes out of California.
The left-leaning state has begun eyeing a new law that would increase the purchasing age for rifles and shotguns from 18 to 21. Florida recently passed similar legislation in a hasty reaction to the tragic school shooting that took place in Parkland, FL.
“California would raise the age for buying rifles and shotguns from 18 to 21 and bar people from buying more than one long gun each month under a bill advancing in the Legislature.
It’s been a frequently debated topic nationwide after a Florida high school shooting that killed 17 people.
The Senate on Tuesday approved the measure by Democratic Sen. Anthony Portantino of La Canada Flintridge, sending it to the Assembly on a 23-10 vote.”
As many Americans know, gun control does next to nothing when it comes to stopping a criminal from obtaining a gun. In the end, most gun laws only affect law-abiding American citizens.
This law will no doubt be a campaign issue for the upcoming midterm elections in November.
