Self-Defense Facts-The numbers don’t lie. Guns protect more than 67,000 people a year.

everyday heroes - self-defense

67,740 lives are saved by the use of guns for self-defense every year, to be exact.

That is almost double the number of people who die in car accidents yearly, according to a Daily Signal article by Mark W. Smith. Imagine how many lives would be lost if the anti-gun liberals had their way.

In a study covering 2007-2011,

the Department of Justice confirmed a total of 338,700 defensive gun uses in both violent attacks and property crimes where a victim was involved. That equals an average of 67,740 defensive gun uses every year. In other words, according to the Justice Department’s own statistics, 67,740 people a year don’t become victims because they own a gun.

When it comes right down to it, the liberals can try to draw your attention to every tragic story they can get their hands on, but the numbers simply DO NOT LIE.

Guns save lives every day.

The gun grabbers say: “There is no evidence that guns save lives.”  The truth: If there is no proof that guns save lives, then why does every American law enforcement agency, including the U.S. Secret Service, carry guns? What’s the point of the guns?

We agree with Mr. Smith when he says that the simple fact is – guns protect the good people from the bad people, and denying the public their right to self-defense is absurd.

Why in the world would anyone not want to have the means to protect themselves and their families against criminal predators and lunatics? Worse yet, why would anyone actively lobby their government to deprive themselves and every other law-abiding citizen of the most effective means to protect themselves?

We see stories about people protecting themselves and their loved ones every day, but we’re looking for them.  The major media outlets don’t report on these stories – they’re not sensational enough.

Unfortunately, if you want the real facts, you’re going to have to seek them out.

We’ll continue doing our best to help you find the news you’re really looking for.
