What we do
Amendment2Rights is a service offered to consumers interested in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution and the right to keep and bear arms and organizations that want to connect with those consumers. We help direct consumers to curated media experiences that we believe will be of interest to them, and we help our clients identify consumers who might be interested in their product, service or cause. In other words, we create connections. To do this, we study consumer characteristics and then make predictions about what it is that individuals are likely to be interested in. We match those interests against the goals of our clients to find the best fit. Sometimes our research is intended to help our clients engage with new donors, subscribers or customers, other times it is intended to find new ways to engage with and serve existing donors, subscribers or customers. But whether they are our clients, the American consumer, or others, we care about people.
What this notice covers
This privacy notice applies to our business practices and information received from consumers and donors through the Amendment2Rights.com service and website. Our other websites and lines of business may have different privacy practices, which are described in privacy notices for these websites. By providing Amendment2Rights with your information you agree to the processing and use of your information described in this notice as it may be updated from time to time.
Consumer information and how we use it
When you respond to a marketing offer, newsletter or other communication sent through Amendment2Rights, you may submit your information to Amendment2Rights. This information may include a variety of personal and non-personal information such as your name, address, email address, occupation and certain required information about your eligibility to donate to a political committee (e.g., that you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, that you are not a government employee, etc.). It may also include information on your opinions and interests (for example, survey responses).
In certain circumstances, we may host a website through which you may also submit payment information such as your credit card number and other information, but we do not store your payment information. In such a case, we use third party payment card processing companies to process payments in connection with our services. These third parties have committed to us to ensure your payment card information is processed in a secure, PCI compliant manner. Your credit card information is processed and retained by these third parties and will not be shared with us.
We don’t collect or store Social Security numbers or other government-issued identifiers. We don’t knowingly collect or store protected health (HIPAA) data or information about children. You should not submit any of this type of information through our website or service.
We share your information with our clients on whose behalf we contact you by email and sometimes with other clients and partners whose offers we think may interest you. We also provide the information to trusted partners who work with us to help provide our services, process purchases, subscriptions and donations and build audiences for future offers, as well as to send additional communications to you and others. We may also share your information with our trusted partners to give effect to your opt out choices.
We may use your information to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We may also use your information to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our or our clients’ or third party partners’ user agreements, or as otherwise required by law.
We may transfer information about you if we are acquired by or merged with another company.
Third party sites and services
There may be places on our website or in messages we transmit where you may click on a link to access other websites that do not operate under this privacy notice. For example, in connection with donations you submit or products, services or subscriptions you purchase, you may be taken to a website that we do not control. If you are taken to a website not found at Amendment2Rights.com or our corporate website listed above, you are likely at a website not controlled by us. These third-party websites may independently solicit and collect information, including personal information, from you and, in some instances, provide us with information about your activities on those websites. We recommend that you consult the privacy statements of all third-party websites you visit by clicking on the “privacy” link typically located at the bottom of the webpage you are visiting. We are not responsible for and do not endorse the content of any third party website or service.
Cookies and other collection technologies
We may automatically collect information from your browser or device when you visit our website such as your IP address, device ID, your browser type and language, access times, and the content of any undeleted cookies that your browser previously accepted from us.
When you visit our website, we may assign your device one or more cookies to facilitate access to our site. Through the use of a cookie, we also may automatically collect information about your online activity on our site, such as the web pages you visit, the time and date of your visits, the links you click, and the information you submit to our site. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies. We or third parties may use various technologies, such as web beacons and other similar technologies, to track your use of our site or your interaction with email messages we send and to share with one-another non-personally identifiable versions of user information collected at the site or through our email messages. We may use that information to link to and issue non-personally identifiable cookies containing demographic or intent-based data for online behavioral advertising purposes. Such cookies do not contain personally identifiable information.
We may share non-personal information we collect under any of the circumstances described above. We may combine non-personal information we collect with additional non-personal information collected from other sources. For example, we may engage a data provider who may collect web log data from you (including IP address and information about your browser or operating system), or place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser to enable you to receive customized ads or content. The cookies may reflect de-identified demographic or other data linked to data you voluntarily have submitted to us (such as your email address), that we may share with a data provider solely in hashed, non-human readable form.
We work with a lot of data, so it’s fair to be interested in how we protect it. We have implemented technical, administrative, personnel, and physical measures to safeguard the security of all of the information in our custody. When we transfer your information to our third party partners that help us deliver our services, we require them to implement reasonable security standards. Any information we share with our other partners or clients is subject to their separate data protection policies.
Consumer choice and “do not track”
In addition to securing the data we use, we honor people’s choice regarding its collection and use. You see, we are consumers too. We care deeply about our own privacy and about how our company is perceived. We believe that almost everyone wants to receive offers that are relevant and valuable to them.
We belong to a number of trade associations, like the DAA and DMA, whose self-regulatory programs we follow; and they all require that businesses recognize and honor consumer choice. “Opt-out” is a frequently used term, but what it means and how it is implemented may differ from company to company, web site to web site. At its core, however, to opt out is to make a choice about how companies market to you or about how political or non-profit organizations solicit you. And we listen. Whether you have opted out of receiving email from a single client or from the entire Amendment2Rights service, we respect your choices.
You may opt out of email communications sent through Amendment2Rights from the client on whose behalf we sent you email by following the link contained in the email that is designated as the method of unsubscribing from emails from the sending email address. You may also opt out of all emails through the Amendment2Rights service by either following the link in the email that is designated as an unsubscribe link for the service as a whole, if available, or by sending an email to unsubscribe@Amendment2Rights.com. This privacy notice does not create rights enforceable by third parties or require disclosure of any personal information relating to users of the Amendment2Rights website or any other of our sites.
