U.S.Sen.ChrisMurphy(D-CT)joinedOnCall4Kids,anationalnonprofitmadeupofdoctorswhoadvocateforstrongerguncontrol,tocallonCongresstopreventfutureshootings.
MurphyhasbeenadvocatingforsolutionstogunviolencesincehewasinauguratedinJanuary2013—onemonthaftertheSandyHookElementarySchoolshooting.
“Wearelosingagenerationofchildreninthiscountrytothetraumaofgunviolenceastheyexperienceit,eventhoughtheynevergetshot,”Murphysaid.“Becausethefearthattheyhavetolivewitheverydayisliterallycorruptingthesekids’brains,makingitunableforthemtolearn.”
