Here’s What a New National Survey Shows About Trump’s Support Post-Conviction

 

A new national survey from Emerson College Polling shows support for former President Donald Trump remained the same despite a criminal conviction in the sham hush money trial. 

Inatwo-wayrace,46percentofvoterssupportTrumpwhile45percentbackPresidentJoeBiden.Ninepercentareundecided.Theraceisaneven,50-50splitwhentheundecidedswerepushedtonamewhichcandidatethey’releaningtoward.  Whenthird-partycandidatesareincluded,BidentakesabiggerhitthanTrump.  Regardingtheconviction,40percentsaiditwillhavenoimpactontheirvote,27percentsaiditwillmakethemmorelikelytosupportthe45thpresident,and33percentsaidtheyarelesslikelytosupporthimbecauseofit.Amongundecidedvoters,58percentsaidtheconvictionwillnotinfluencetheirvotecomparedto36percentwhosaiditwill“likely”impacttheirvote.  “Trump’ssupportinourpollingremainedthesamebeforeandafterhisconviction,”SpencerKimball,executivedirectorofEmersonCollegePolling,saidinastatement.“AmajorityofDemocratssayitmakesthemlesslikelytosupportTrump(51%)andamajorityofRepublicans(
